BROWSER COMPATIBILITY
Because I am primarily a woodworker, I prefer to create and maintain my web pages as easily as possible so I can spend more time working in the shop. My web pages are primarily created on an iMac computer using Apple’s iWeb application. The ability to quickly generate photo gallery pages is one of the most useful features in the latest version of iWeb because this enables me to include many additional photos and detail photos that I would otherwise not be able to include because of the time required to create the pages. The gallery pages generated by iWeb are compatible with nearly every current browser except Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (all versions, as best as I can determine.)
In the past, I have tried to make sure that all my pages are compatible with all the major browsers including Internet Explorer. Recently other browsers have become much more common, and starting with my Spring 2009 update to my web site I have decided to forgo compatibility with Internet Explorer on the gallery pages. If you wish to view the gallery pages (and I encourage you to do so) please download a copy of Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/) or Safari (http://www.apple.com/safari/download/) both of which appear to be fully compatible with all web pages created by iWeb. These browsers are widely available for nearly all platforms including OS/X, Windows, and Linux. Both of the above sites initially appear to have a download for only OS/X, but downloads for other platforms are also accessible from these sites - just look for the appropriate link for your OS. You can also find specific versions of these browsers from many other sites through a Google search.
