Shop
My 16' x 26' shop is not large by most standards, but it was designed for efficiency and ease of use. With 9 windows, three just in front of my bench, the whole shop is flooded with natural light and is a very pleasant space in which to work.
Lumber Storage
Lumber racks along one wall and elsewhere near the ceiling provide plenty of space for lumber to acclimate for several days to weeks prior to use
Combination Machine
This large professional grade combination woodworking machine is located in the center of the shop and is a significant space saver. The sliding 12" table saw, 12" jointer/planer, tilting shaper, and mortiser have all the power, versatility, and accuracy required for precise stock preparation and joinery. Change-over time between functions is minimal and more than compensated for by the accuracy and precision of each cut.
Workbench
When I first saw a photo of this Shaker workbench in "The Workbench Book" by Scott Landis (Taunton Press, 1987) I knew I had found the bench I needed. Scaled down to just over 9' long, and built largely from recycled lumber, it has been a delight to use for over 10 years. It handles nearly everything from full-size house doors to small drawer parts with ease.
Hand Tools
Numerous cabinets near the workbench store hand planes, chisels, layout tools, and other tools used at the bench.
